It's nice to know someone in city government finally agrees with us, and cares enough to do something about it.
Citing a NY Dept of Investigation report, released in March, that highlighted unacceptable living conditions in certain city shelters, NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer today REJECTED a permanent shelter contract for the Aladdin, located at 317 W 45th St. The Aladdin was one of only two shelters city-wide that were rejected--a dubious distinction for us here in the heart of the greatest city in the richest nation in the history of humankind.
The proposed contract has been sent back to the administration of Mayor de Blasio "for further review."
