Mathews Palmer Park Redesign - Community Presentation

posted Apr 23, 2014, 7:43 AM by David Stuart
It's finally here!

As you may remember, a little over a year ago $1.8 million was allocated for the re-design of Mathews Palmer Park (45th/46th between 9th/10th). The West 45th and 46th St Block Associations spearheaded a community visioning process so residents could share their thoughts and ideas about how the park should be redesigned.

We invited you to participate and the turnout was amazing! More than 300 of our neighbors contributed their thoughts and ideas on how to make Mathews Palmer a better park for our neighborhood. We provided your feedback to the Parks Dept - and we're now at the next step in the process - approval of the Parks Department design.

How will the train be incorporated?… Will there be more natural elements?… How will they open the space and make it safer and more inviting?

We've all been in suspense since we shared your input and we're about to get our answers. This is the meeting for you to see the new design, ask Parks Dept Designers questions and share our thoughts on the design. We'll see you there!
