Block Association Info and Officers

About Us

The West 45th St. Block Association has been in existence for 35+ years. We are a group of concerned neighbors working hard to make this block a wonderful place to live. We are very active on block beautification, traffic issues, crime and quality of life issues, and community-building.

Neighbors are our focus and our trees our greatest assets on the block. We plant trees and install tree guards to protect against damage from vehicles, pedestrians and our four-legged friends. We regularly plant flowers and other perennials, and clean trash from the tree beds. During the hot summer months you will often see us out watering in the evenings.

We work closely with the police and local businesses to improve safety and quality of life on the block. We also work with our elected officials on various issues, including problems relating to the Aladdin homeless shelter, bus parking, pollution and noise to name a few.

All work and no play makes for a dull block association! We have informal get-togethers and planned events with other neighborhood groups: including socials, movie nights, yoga in the park, holiday parties and more! Check our Calendar for dates and events, and get on our email list to receive notices.
